In 23 days, I turn 23. Like men and maraschino cherries in my alcoholic, vodka-based drink, I have always had a thing for turning a year older. I’d rather not ramble about my issues (because really, there is nothing more attractive than seeing an insipid almost-23-year old girl launch into a lengthy monologue about her imaginary growing pains) and how— despite finding myself in a fulfilling and emotionally-satisfying relationship— I still have my insecurities about people taking me seriously…
I think I just lost my train of thought. Let’s try that one more time without the digressions.
I’d rather not ramble about my issues and how— despite finding myself in a fulfilling and emotionally-satisfying relationship— I still have my insecurities about people taking me seriously. So instead of going into that, what I’ll do is post one birthday-related entry a day for the next 23 days (yes, this is also me boosting author-based activity in this blog). Thus, 23 for 23. These entries may be part of a birthday wishlist, a realization, a random thought or observation, memories from birthdays past…anything. OMG, I just cringed at how cheesy I am sounding right now.

I’m just gonna turn 20 in two weeks and it’s already making me cringe to death. Dammit, the big 2-0. It’s not the fact that I hate Jenny the character, I just hate how Jenny portrays Jenny the character. Boooo.
I turn 24 in September so I’m a little ahead of you in the ‘wondering why I haven’t achieved more with my life so far’ stakes. I’m pretty sure people still don’t take me very seriously either.
23 days… so is that May 31st or June 1st?? My bday is on June first so either we have the same bday or you’re one day older than I am! I’ll be turning 23 as well, so I will wish you a happy birthday!!
I feared being taken serious when I was 18… but now, it’s like I’m a grandma… I’m always being taken serious, so I ended up developing a really goofy side of me. Ah… after the first episode of Gossip Girl, I couldn’t watch it anymore. I hope the storyline evolved much better!

I am 22 today, and at first I was not looking forward to it, but now I rather like it, and in a way 22 almost seems better than 21. 21 is like being 18. Being 18 was super lame, but being 19 was better. I think 22 may be another age like that.
Do you have a real wishlist? Like an Amazon one? If so, post the link, yo. OR you should make a list of things you actually want. I loves seeing ppl’s lists.

I don’t watch GG. At least not yet, but if somebody from the show advocates killing poor people then I just might give it a try.
The only thing I realize about getting older is how more fast time flys by! I’ve never seen that show…

Oh what I’m so behind on Gossip Girls… I started watching it on net after the 6th episode and got hooked.. but when I caught up and tried to follow it on TV, I just gave up.
I really like this idea, I think it’s cute! I might have to steal it and do “21 for 21″ starting partway through August. :P
we have the same bday with but I’m so glad for last week’s episode… I think little J should be cut off the series, she was eventually in the book anyway hahaha
