The desire to celebrate birthdays does seem to wane with each year that passes. When it’s my birthday, if people remember and are nice to me, then I’m happy.

I didn’t do anything for my birthday really and I’m still kind of annoyed about it. I didn’t have any money, but now my friends/lovers’ birthdays are coming around and I’m gettin jealous.

You know what I want— what I really want— for my birthday? Ice cream over cupcakes and him mouthing the words “I love you” at me from across the table.

I like that idea; very, very sweet. Just shows that being around the people you love is enough to make you happy. :)
