“Uptown Meets Cowtown”

I’ve never been a fan Western fashion (it’d be odd, really, seeing that I’m Asian) and I can only count two instances when I’ve ever worn anything remotely cowgirl-y: my dad’s cowboy hat for a highschool Barn Dance (a yearly dance hosted by the school’s Home Ec and Agriculture Clubs) and a pair of scuffed cowboy boots to work (I was drunk).

I was browsing Cavender’s today because I was curious about the whole Urban Cowgirl style…okay, I admit to watching a country-themed 16th birthday party on TV the other day (will not disclose the name of the show because it is embarrassing to publicly announce I watch such mulch) and found the girls’ outfits cute. Going through the women’s catalog, I found one thing that I would want to wear/I can see myself wearing:

Cavender's Ocean Drive Tan Leather Sundress

The dress, not the boots. I mean, I still want a pair of red boots, but I was thinking of something I could wear to hang out in corners (with a plump man in a mink coat standing next to me).

I think this child’s cowboy boots are adorable, though.

I have a secret dream of wanting to be a cow girl just because I love horses and the ranch lifestyle. I love cowboy boots too.. reminds me I have to go look for a pair. =P

I love that dress, and those boots too, actually! (Although in perhaps a different color.)

I like the whole boots/flannel/peasant-y material clothes look :D

I would totally admire your guts if you wear the cowboy boots or knee high boots. the tropical weather would make your legs sweat.
Why not try roman gladiator sandals instead, the one that could be tied around the legs?
anyway just wear whatever you feel like, you always carry yourself with aplomb.

    Yeah, I don’t get Western fashion either…
(Although it should be I don’t get fashion period. LOL, jk)

I like the boots, though. They don’t look too bad. :P

I always wanted a big cowboy hat like the one Sheri Moon Zombie wears in the Devil’s rejects. I love the look but don’t know if I could pull it off.

I think the boots and dress would look good on you! Get the red boots! =]

I dig the dress, and it doesn’t look bad at all with the cowboy boots.

    Get it!

I have cowboy boots. They were $8 at a thrift store and they are heaven. No matter how scuffed or worn, they will always be stylish IMO.

I am NOT any kind of urban white trash cowgirl either. I wear cowboy boots in a don’t-give-a-fuck, ironic sort of Kate Moss type of way.

That is very cute. Yeahh, we don’t really have that whole ‘cowboy/girl’ scene over here in Ausralia. The only thing remote to that is the farmers with their cowboy hats and flanno’s. Hehehe.
The boots are cute! I like them! Hahaha.
    :]

I’ve been planning on getting a pair of western boots, just like the one in the picture.. maybe in diff color but something along that style. and i’ve got a dress that will look perfect with it, but life’s been busy as it is now.. so i guess i have to keep postponing buying the boots. friends have suggested online shopping but i like trying on shoes before buying em, and obviously can’t do that online. anyways… it is very adorable indeed! :)
