Between the lover and I, we own a handful of domains, all purchased with plans of turning them into money-making sites/niche blogs. Unfortunately, the webgeek in the relationship (aka me) got distracted with other things while the pushy-naggy one (aka him) got too busy with actual work. It’s been a few months and something has yet to become of the several domains.
One of the reasons nothing has been done about our little projects is because all the domains are hosted on a free server whose service leaves a lot to be desired (no surprise there). My schedule isn’t so busy nowadays (what a laugh, really) so I have time to look for webhosting. I’m always on the lookout for affordable hosts that offer good packages and I came across Webhosting Geek’s list of the top 10 web hosts for 2008. It’s helpful information; now all I need is the lover to decide on one (because I am a woman and by default, can’t make any decisions. Har).

Hi, my name's Helga Weber and welcome to my personal site. I'm 23. My first socio-political scandal will happen at the age of 35 and will include men, sushi, an African country, and lots of money. My lover is the greatest.

Yeah, finding a host can be bit tricky sometimes.
If it helps, I use hostmonster, which is ranked at number 4 on that top ten list.
I really like them, I haven’t had any problems really. I’ve sent them a couple of emails w/ questions, and they answered pretty quickly.
I *heart* them. Is my family. =)
Being the cheapskate I am, I found the cheapest webhosting possible… I have the plan for only 40 cents a month, but there a bunch more expensive ones if you want to do that.

I’m being hosted by Haley, I think it’s cheap and the service is good.

I just switched to Squarespace. Right now I am using their 14 day trial period and so far its great. 8 bucks a month after that. Its nothing like a wordpress blog, but its a dream to use.
My host is really cheap - I’m only paying $20 for the whole year. And, their lowest priced plan starts at $12 for the whole year. I’m happy with them so far.
I seriously wish that I could make money from my domains. I only have 2 at the moment but I plan on attempting at trying something to earn some money on my sites.
I have had bluehost for almost 3 years and I’ve never had any problems with them thus far.
Yay! I’ve been bugging you about webhosting stuff, thanks for the post and the link!

I use Hasweb.. I pay $60/year but they recently upgraded my account for free too because I was going to switch to Surpass so they spec-matched it for me… yay!

2000GB Bandwidth
10 Addon Domains
10 Parked Domains
HasWeb Basic Pricing: $60/year
My original plan only had 3gb space, 50gb bandwidth, 1 add-on domain…
Oh and I forgot to add, they have AWESOME customer service (always get a reply to my emails within minutes) and I think I only had about 20mins of downtime ever since I signed up with them in Dec’04.
I still shift from 1 host to another every year. XD
I also shift from one host every year (so far, since I’ve been blogging for 2 years palang). So far, I have no problems with my host. Plus, it is FREE.
Finding hosting needs to be studied carefully.. I once review webhosting Geeks also
