HOW I PROCESS MY PHOTOS, PART 2.

Hello, hello, I’m glad you guys liked my previous tutorial. I have a couple more but I’ll do something really simple today. My friend, Alex, wanted to know how I did this particular photo:

It’s really really really surprisingly easy. Like, it only generally takes three steps. As usual, you will need Photoshop.

I hope you find this little tutorial helpful (the way I find colon cleanse products helpful hrhrhrhr)!

Step One: Open your document in Photoshop.

Step Two: Convert to black and white. Now this is the tricky part, at least for me. I really suck at black and white and a simple B&W gradient map or desaturate or #00000 color fill set to color won’t work. Feel free to check out B&W conversion tutorials online or mess around with your levels. This is what I have:

Step Three: Choose the color you want for your “light leak” (lol). I particularly like hot pink/red or purple, but it’s up to you. Set it as your foreground color.

Click the create new fill or adjustment layer button on your layers palette and choose ‘Gradient’.

Adjust the angle to your liking. I like the color on the upper right corner but again: it’s up to you.

Set the gradient layer’s blend mode to ‘lighten’.

Ta-da!

Adjust the layer opacity according to your preference. You can also use more than one gradient layer/one color:

I told you guys it was easy!
