People who know me know that jeans really aren’t my style. I practically live in basic, black leggings because not only are they versatile (at least for me), they’re also very comfortable to wear on unbearably hot days and “fat days” (oh, elastic waistbands, how I love thee lol). I have about 10+ pairs of jeans that take up precious closet space (I like having them around, I don’t know why) but I only ever really wear about two or three pairs.
I can’t remember the last time I bought a new pair of jeans. Another reason why I don’t wear them: unlike leggings and mini skirts, it is SO hard and SO frustrating finding a good pair of jeans in this country. Sometimes, I wonder if the good folks who design women’s jeans have the slightest clue about the female body.

Last night, I attended the Levi’s Modern Vintage Collection launch. Bloggers (I was with Liz and Lauren) and media folks were treated to a short fashion show showcasing the styles (the collection has three styles for women: Slim Patty Anne Fit, Slim Straight Elise, and Slim Boyfriend Fit) followed by a shopping trip so we lucky ducks could pick, fit, and take home our own pair of Modern Vintage jeans!
About the Levi’s Modern Vintage Collection:
The only brand that can truly claim to have an illustrious archive, the Levi’s® Modern Vintage collection is inspired by exactly that. This collection shows the ingenious features of Levi’s® jeans from yesteryears and have not only been reinterpreted, but incorporated into today’s modern designs. Vintage on contemporary – this says all there is to say about Levi’s® latest offerings. With luxurious detailing, the Modern Vintage collection features premium rustic fabrics and vintage finishing techniques presented as modern jeans. The new collection exudes individualism and sexiness, the very personality of Levi’s®.
Some vintage elements they infused with the modern style: rivets and waist-button from 1873, hickory stripe pocket lining from the 1800s, pocket from 1947. I love it.
A few photos from the fashion show:

Hey, boys, love your jeans. It is embarrassing to point out that Lauren and I tittered quite maturely when the boys came out with their shirts off. Heh.
Jeans jeans jeans:

The Modern Vintage boyfriend jeans. I really loved/wanted this pair but due to the holiday weight gain (I’ve been trying to get back in shape and reading weight loss success stories), I was awkwardly stuck in between sizes. If there’s one thing I learned from all my years of shopping, always get what fits you NOW. Strangely enough, my regular size in the slim fit fit me perfectly.

My new jeans! I wish you could see my “vintage” shirt under my floral jacket (which for some reason no longer hugs my body. Did a fat person try it on?! It makes me sad) hrhrhr.

Ah, I lovelovelove them! I wanted to wear them to work but they have yet to be washed (the tags are still on!) and it was just too hot for denim today.

I didn’t know you rarely wear jeans but yeah I often see you in your pictures on skirts/leggings. Haha… You’re not fat, even your new jeans looks a bit loose for you.
Btw, thanks for the tip. I’ve been planning to buy a new pair, I’m a jeans person but trying to live out of it… you should be my icon. Haha.

Oh, my problem exactly. I can’t seem to find a good fit for jeans. Well, maybe because I’m on the heavy side, too. =)
I have been looking for a straight jeans, which when you tucked in shirts, blouses, you still look good even if you don’t have a nice body.
But these modern vintage jeans are cool. I should check them out.
