Summer is slowly creeping up on us and I must have been nuts to wear this thickish sweater during the day (when it can get unbearably warm/humid) but the weather was mostly cooperative last Tuesday. Unfortunately, it took a turn for the worse and started pouring rain come nighttime. It wouldn’t have been so bad but it was also the night of Sugarfree’s last gig.
How very appropriate and dramatic, Mother Nature.
I got the bunny sweater for PHP50 at some ukay place along 15th Avenue I chanced upon when I went to pay my internet bill last month. While browsing through the racks, a handful of old women entered the shop and started cooing at the clothes (and chatting about healthcare jobs lol); I caught one of them eying the stuff I had picked out. That’s how I know I’m at the right place/buying the right things, really.
Today, I am wearing a dress that my mom hates. Or dislikes. I offered to lend her this dress the other night and she scoffed at me. I hope I don’t turn into those moms in their late 40s/early 50s who wear halter tops (exposing their saggy backs) and leggings and gaudy gold jewelry (okay, I might rethink that last one). I’m not saying that my mom does; she doesn’t. I just hope I don’t outgrow my preference for GRANDMA CLOTHES! GRANDMA CLOTHES!!!, even when I am a grandma.
My boyfriend thinks the shoes don’t match. I kind of agree. I would have preferred if I wore this with my brown belt and some brown wedges instead, but I do not own the latter (yet).
Thrifted old lady dress; black braided belt from SM Department Store; Michael Antonio platform wedges; accessories from Quiapo.
I’m on the fence on these wedges— while I do love the added height (I was towering over everyone else on the train, but that’s not saying much since most Filipinas are dinky anyway), it requires all my concentration/attention. No iPhone-ing, no walking fast (I was uncharacteristically walking slowly today), and no running to catch train doors!
Also: MY HAIR REFUSES TO HOLD RED DYE. The red fades so quickly over the bleached parts.
Talk about accidental, unwanted, and half-assed ombre hair.
