When I got an invite to attend Myra’s launch of Iza Calzado as their latest endorser at Thaipan in Tomas Morato, I was honestly surprised. I always had it in my mind that Iza had already been working with them. I guess that just goes to show what a perfect fit Myra and Iza are!
Iza talking about how the vitamin E in Myra-E capsules is all-natural, making it easier for our bodies to absorb. I need to get to taking those capsules ASAP, I tell ya. The program was very quick so we had time to interview her before nomming on Thai food!
While my knowledge of Iza’s work is limited (I’m not a fan of local TV nor do I watch local blockbusters), I am familiar with her “story” and have read about her transformation from being overweight to the svelte and undeniably radiant woman that she is now. Who isn’t inspired by that?! I distinctly remember a local showbiz rag writing about how she would bring her own healthy meals to eat on set (something that the event’s host, Sam Oh, mentioned about Iza, too). As someone who is perpetually trying to be fit and healthy (despite my vices, heh), I found myself agreeing with her beauty and health principles.
Iza stressed the importance of beauty coming from within— something that I strongly believe in. She drinks a lot of water, eats her fruits and veggies, doesn’t shy away from the sun, gets ample rest, and makes fitness a lifestyle (and of course, takes her Myra E!). Despite her busy schedule as an actress and TV host, she prioritizes working out and fixes her schedule just to accommodate it (seriously, my lazy self could learn a thing or two from her). She even candidly shared that due to the holidays and too many cheat days, she went off-track with her fitness regimen and had to work out twice a day in preparation for the Myra shoot.
When asked how she handles stress, she answered with— surprise! surprise!— exercise. “Working out makes me happy!” she exclaimed. And it’s true: even I feel my best post-workout (look, is another story as I don’t think I get that healthy glow most people do, heh). Hurray for endorphins!
I’m not kidding when I say that Iza Calzado is all sorts of adorable and inspiring and that she’s easily one of my favorite local celebrities. She really drives home the fact that beauty and looking good doesn’t necessarily have to be complicated nor expensive. The whole approach is very basic and something that anyone can do and have.
