Sad day! One of the things I have dreaded the most has happened: my 50mm lens (just the cheapy f1.8 kind) fell apart on me.

I still have my kit lens so my camera is not completely handicapped but I am going to miss the pretty bokeh.
I honestly don’t know what happened. I adore my camera and while I may sometimes be a little rough with it, I don’t recall ever dropping it. Boyfriend says that constantly removing the lens and putting it back on weakens the bayonet or something. I am hoping I can have it repaired because I would hate to buy a replacement lens. Especially since I have my eye on purchasing either an electric oven (costs around the same as a 50mm f1.8 lens) or a small sewing machine. Maybe a king size platform bed, too (lol).
Does anyone know where I can have the lens repaired, besides Hidalgo?

Try Gilbert Cruz @ 09192591326. Personally, I haven’t tried his services because I just can’t find the time to go to Sta. Mesa to give him my 18-200mm lens but a photog friend of mine recommended him.

Try going to the Canon service center in Puregold (along Shaw Blvd.). I hope it gets fixed soon!

Try the service centers of Canon in Magallanes/Shaw. I had our small digicam repaired there before.

Yikes, that’s really big bummer considering that lens aren’t exactly the cheapest things to buy for a camera.
RIP 50mm.
