This year, I decided to go as Helga Pataki for Meiday’s annual Halloween party, Meiday Mayhem. I mean, Helga going as Helga— how clever is that?! (Very clever, if I say so myself.)
Putting together a Helga Pataki costume is pretty effortless. All you need is a pink sleeveless dress (mine is an XL top I found at SM Makati’s Smart Buy kiosk; note to self: pick up some garter belts so I can re-wear this), a plain white tee (Helga Pataki wears a turtleneck but I went with a round-neck tee because seriously… a short-sleeved turtleneck???), some red and pink ribbon, a headband, and white shoes. I skipped out on making an Arnold locket because I didn’t have time to print out a picture of him :( I didn’t bother with a blonde wig (for pig tails), either, because last year’s wig was a mess.
Being cute when you have a freaking unibrow is hard work. I used my in2it eyebrow powder kit to draw the unibrow because I wanted something I could easily wipe off at the end of the night. Helga’s unibrow is a straight black line which could be made with black felt paper or a fake mustache (no idea where to get those here).
Here are a few photos from Meiday Mayhem. I didn’t get to take a lot of pictures since I had my kit lens and I was drunk by the time I spotted my friends. Sometimes, I don’t even know why I still bother going out when all I really want to do is sit down and drink lol.
Halloween is the best! There’s a Halloween Sing-Along Party at Casa Nami tomorrow that I’m hoping to go to if I can come up with a quick and easy costume. I still want to go as Smurfette but I can’t be bothered to make a Smurf hat or find blue body paint.
Who did you go as this year?
