Almost as exciting as the possibility of coming home a winner is figuring out what to wear to the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards (NAPBAS). It’s a fancy formal event, I think (keywords: gala dinner) so I’m pretty much looking forward to picking out a super cutie dress to wear.
When it comes to clothes, I like them low-cut and shapeless; bonus points for glitter or sequins or a kitschy (you say ugly, I say kitschy) pattern, or if it’s something you would expect a grandmother or a woman in her cougar 50s would wear. The more colorful, the better! Skirts and dresses need to either fall way above my knees or cover my entire legs. For the NAPBAS, I decided to go short (I am more likely to re-wear a short dress than a maxi) and browsed around Polyvore for some ideas.
Browsing Polyvore at this time is an exercise in dumbassery because a) it’s not like I can afford the clothes they have on there and b) I can’t order online, not with NAPBAS less than a month away. And to be honest, I didn’t really find anything that called out to me.
The plan right now is to hit the Kamuning fabric market and find the tackiest pattern in existence and have a dress custom-made (will I have time?!). I want kittens! Or rocketships! Or bacon! Or a t-rex, bro! Or LAZ3R B3AMZ and destruction! In a universe of 7 billion people (not counting the ones in the parallel universe), these patterns have got to exist, right?
If all else fails, I could settle on something off-the-rack from The Ramp, I guess.
