I am always on the lookout for new salons to try. While I have a short list of go-to places, I’m not particularly picky when it comes to who cuts/touches my hair. All I need are reasonable rates (PHP300-700 for a haircut), an accessible location (can take public transportation to get there), and good reviews online.
This week, I went to the opening of the fourth Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon branch at Eton Cyberpod, Ortigas (the call center building across Galleria, accessible to me via a quick bus ride!). Lourd Ramos is a familiar name in the hair and makeup industry, with several awards under his belt (2007 Davines Italia Philippines Grand Winner, Studio 23’s Make-up Artist of the Year in 2010, and Go Negosyo Starpreneur Award in 2011, and 5th Place at the Davines World Style Contest in Barcelona, Spain). He personally trains his staff to ensure professionalism, high standards, and excellence— which in turn guarantees clients that they get the best salon experience every time they visit. For someone of his stature, I was surprised at how affordable Lourd’s rates are.
The place was packed when I got there at 10am last Wednesday and I was lucky to have been seated a few minutes after arriving.
Getting ready to try out the Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle hair treatment (by Davines, I believe).
(FYI to those who want “crazy” hair colors but don’t wanna buy and DIY it— the guy in pink, Norman, told me that they mix Davines hair dyes to achieve bright, unnatural colors. So there ya go!)
The Vegetarian Miracle hair treatment is a quick, 15-minute process that’s meant to add shine and softness to your hair. According to THE INTERNET!, its ingredients are marine algae, avocado, and rice proteins so I’m guessing it’s a bit of a reconstructor, too. Perfect for my (over)bleached hair!
Freshly blow-dried with Rovie, who got the same treatment.
And my hair several hours later— felt so FABOOSH! I love how they blow-dried it and it’s still so soft and pretty even after two days. I couldn’t help but take a bunch of photos before heading out for another thing that night.
Seriously, if I weren’t wary of Brazilian Blowouts, I’d have my hair permanently blow-dried this way! And don’t you just love how the Pinkissimo faded to this pretty, pastel pink-lavender color?!?! Because I do!
The Vegetarian Miracle treatment is PHP900 while haircuts go for as low as PHP300 for women and PHP250 for men. Hair coloring and highlights begin at PHP1500 and hair treatments at PHP500. They also offer the usual services such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, hair rebond, and hair and makeup.
Creations by Lourd Ramos Salon has three other branches: 2F Cedar Executive Bldg. I, 1006 Arnaiz Avenue in Makati (main branch), at the second floor of Glorietta 5, at Soho Central Podium on the ground floor of Greenfield District in Mandaluyong, and at Eton Cyberpod. Store hours are from 9AM to 9PM. Mosey over to their Facebook page for more info!
