Strip Ministry of Waxing: Gingerbread Cookie Wax

It’s beginning to smell a lot like Christmas!

The holidays are upon us and nothing gets me more giddy than seeing the city decked out in pretty lights. Something about the season always puts me in a wistful mood and I love almost everything about it— holiday music (currently listening to Hanson’s Snowed In, my all-time favorite Christmas album obviously), the glitter, sequins, and velvet, the shiny tinsel, the colors, the fairy lights, the parties, the seasonal items, the food… I could go on ’til 2013! But what I love most about this time of the year? That Christmas smell. It just makes you want to eat THE WORLD.

This holiday season, Strip Ministry of Waxing bids you a Merry Christmas! with their latest offering, the Warm English Gingerbread Cookie… Wax. Warm English Gingerbread Cookie— does that not make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside???

It’s basically gingerbread-scented hot wax. I don’t know about you, but it looks (and smells!) good enough to eat for me. Look at that gooey goodness:

I opted to get a Brazilian last Tuesday and I fearlessly walked into Strip’s Greenbelt 5 location. A few months ago, Sanya and I had a quick conversation comparing Strip and Company X’s Brazilian services. She basically said that though Strip’s was more expensive, it was practically painless and worth the price difference. The secret is in the hot wax, which opens up the hair cuticles making pulling it off easier and less painful (Company X uses cold wax, according to April, my therapist). I have a high threshold for pain and if I can sit through a foot tattoo and not cry, getting a Brazilian (my first!) was going to be a piece of cake.

I really love Browhaus and Strip’s decor and how the rooms look like vaults from the outside. April led me to this room and then left me with a wet wipe and instructions to clean up and take off my bottoms.

Having a stranger up close and personal with my vag and bum wasn’t as awkward as I thought it would be. April was friendly, professional, and very very careful. I was feeling a little self-conscious but April assured me that I was okay and that it wasn’t out of control. And I thought I had it bad, European genes and all!

The process took about 30 minutes and I found it to be pretty painless (again— high threshold for pain!). The hot wax on my nether regions felt a little strange but not uncomfortable. Before leaving, they handed me a post-treatment care card and a gingerbread cookie provided by Party Perfect.

Not the actual cookie because I ate that on my way home!

Strip has a tie-up with Party Perfect— PP clients with a minimum purchase of PHP900 get 30% off their Gingerbread Cookie Brazilian Wax and all Strip clients get a gingerbread cookie!

Strip Manila Brazilian Waxes are PHP1200. They offer a package where you can get 5 sessions valid for 2 years for PHP5000. According to April, you can share that package with friends!

Huh cool. Glad to hear that it’s not a terrifying experience. I’ll look them up in Singapore and see if people like them.
