Working 8 hours a day chained to an Avaya phone (or whatever it is they use at BPOs now!) is tough. I know this because I’ve been there before, working the night shift, taking in call after call for two years before it finally took its toll on me. A few months after I said good-bye to that industry, my boyfriend admitted to me that he was glad that I left because I no longer looked haggard.
It was true, though. It can be such a stressful, toxic environment and I remember always feeling bone tired after every shift. I had some pretty dark days back then, the worst being when I would sleep through my alarm and rush to work without so much as a quick shower. I had long, shiny, healthy hair worth showing off then (this was years before I developed my addiction to bleach lol) but I always had to put it up in a ponytail because I never had time to style it. I found it hard to spare a few extra minutes on myself when being late for work by just onefreakinminute would reflect badly on my performance.
BPO employees are quite the hardworking bunch and many tend to neglect their physical appearance because of the stress. I know I did! Finesse recognizes this which is why they are launching the second season of their I’ll Take Care Of You Makeover Tour. Just like last year, Finesse will be visiting different locations (25 BPOs and 5 gyms) with their team of “Finesse Hunks” (with one “Celebrity Hunk”), professional makeup artists, and photographers. Featuring products from Finesse’s Self-Adjusting Formula line, Finesse hunks will be pampering employees and patrons with free shampoos (one of life’s little pleasures!) and hairstyling.
It’s been nearly five years since my last hectic shift as a call center agent but I can still imagine how great it would feel to take a break and have a bit of relaxation and pampering amidst all the stress and phone calls!
Participants will then be pretty-fied and have their photos taken to be uploaded via Finesse’s I’ll Take Care Of You Facebook application. Photos with the most likes will be proclaimed “Venue Winner.” Of the 30 venue winners from all the tour stops, 3 grand winners will be named this year’s Makeover Tour winners at the culminating event. Prizes at stake are a 11″ Macbook Air 64gb (want), a new iPad 16gb Wifi (want), and a Samsung Galaxy Note (want).
However, if you don’t work at a BPO or have a gym membership, you can still win a Samsung Galaxy SIII at the general raffle simply by signing up at IllTakeCareOfYou.net!
I was very curious about Finesse’s “self-adjusting concept,” which adjusts to your specific hair type, because, as the famous Finesse tagline goes— “Sometimes you need a little. Sometimes you need a lot.” I’m not sure what the science behind their self-adjusting formula is, but the products are oil-free and contain silk and soy proteins “that protect the hair shaft with a coat of conditioning and shine.”
Finesse has three product ranges identifiable by the color of the burst on the bottle: B L U E for Enhancing, P I N K for Moisturizing, and G R E E N for Volumizing. Since my hair falls under “dry and damaged”, I wasted no time trying out the 2-in-1 Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner (pink burst).
The first thing I noticed was that my hair didn’t feel squeaky clean and tangled while rinsing it out, unlike most shampoos! I was relieved because having bleached hair means I am one wrong move away from a bad hair day. Something as seemingly trivial like trying out a new conditioner could result into straw-like, dry hair that’s rough to the touch! I’ll be trying out the Extra Control Mousse next as it promises no build-up and won’t weigh your hair down.
Have you tried any of the Finesse Self-Adjusting Formula products? Did it work for ya?
Up for grabs are 24 gift packs from Finesse. Every person who joins the Rafflecopter promo will also be automatically entered in the Samsung Galaxy S3 raffle!
Promo runs November 30 to December 14! The winner will be announced during the Finesse main event, which will be held on January 12, 2013 at the new Glorietta Activity Center.
