Introducing Make-Up Monday: a new series that I will no doubt forget about after a couple of attempts! Still, it doesn’t hurt to try and shit like this should be easy enough.
Every Monday, I’ll be featuring one (new) make-up item I’m currently using and find noteworthy. I’ll take a few snaps, show my stupid mug a couple of times, and then maybe throw in a couple of unhelpful lines about the product itself.
This week, I’m all about Ofra’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Laguna Beach (PHP950). It came in my #FlawlessBeauty Glamourbox and is the only thing from said box that got my little kitty heart excited.
Laguna Beach is a nude pink shade that is absolutely gorgeous and dries matte (like Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream). Not so sure about the “long lasting” bit, though, but I’m a special case because nothing stays on my lips for more than two hours.
I love it, I’ve been wearing it every day since I took the tube out of its box. My two favorite lipsticks are Mac’s Angel and Honey Love (swiped over a thin layer of Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm in Smitten) and Laguna Beach is in the same pinky-nude family. It’s actually the same shade as Honey Love (I just checked)!
No swatches (lol) because I’m half Ilocana and I refuse to be wasteful of something I LOVE so here’s what Laguna Beach looks like on me.
GOSH, I had to use Photoshop to make my skin look worthy of the internet. Life without VSCO filters is so hard, OKAY.
I think it’s a bit more nude IRL, though! I prep my lips with my favorite Smith’s Minted Rose Lip Balm to keep my lips moisturized and then gently pat the lipstick with my middle finger after applying (to prevent feathering– whatever that is– and to evenly distribute color because I’m probably the only woman in her late 20s who can’t apply lipstick properly).
Does anyone have any tried-and-tested tips on how to get lipstick to stay put?
