*We here at Ditz Revolution LOVE to get crafty once in a while. In fact, we keep a steady supply of washi tape at hand for those moments when we feel like sprucing up our surroundings! Washi or decorative tape is a very versatile and affordable craft material that can be used to cuten up practically anything. With **Spring just around the corner, we thought it was a great time to freshen up a few boring office items.
1 – Washi tape mini planters
You can’t go wrong with plain white ceramic planters but it looks like the echeveria on the left isn’t so happy with its modern minimalist chic home. Look at it— it’s drooping!
Washi tape to the rescue! Adding a strip of colorful washi tape makes for a sweet and dainty accent.
2 – Washi tape secret stash of drugs
Besides several rolls of washi tape, we also keep a bottle of ***shabs around. As you can see, we weren’t being very discreet when we labelled it with DROGA SHABS. Also, loom bands are so Summer of 2014 and the bottle décor was just begging to be updated.
Mix and match washi tape patterns for a shabby chic effect. Beautiful!
3 – Washi tape cutlery
Oh wow, are we at Vanilla Cupcake Bakery?!
Plain silverware is so painfully boring that we couldn’t even bear to take a “before” photograph. Now this, this beautifully washi taped spoon and fork pair is such a delight that we cannot wait to eat all our meals with it.
4 – Washi tape toilet paper
Why fit in when you can stand out? Being different is very important to us here at Ditz Revolution and nothing hurts us more than having to share the same toilet paper design with the rest of the world. Luckily for us (and for you!), this can be easily fixed by… you guessed it— washi tape!
It’s very simple, actually. Simply lay out your toilet paper roll and apply washi tape in your chosen design.
We like colorful polka dots!
Much better, don’t you think?
5 – Washi tape eyebrows
Our resident social media manager, Niche, has a problem: he can’t afford to go to Browhaus once a month to have his brows shaped and threaded, and it simply takes too much time each morning to fill them in with brow powder and pencil! He sat down with us today and asked for beauty tips. Our advice? Why, washi tape eyebrows, of course.
Genius! He looks so happy and it only took 15 seconds!
Bonus – Washi tape tears
Washi tape tears: perfect for ugly criers.
6 – Washi tape hair
Last month, our social media socialite, Patty Rae, had her tresses dyed a beautiful rose gold. Unfortunately, it faded a week later. She looks so happy and full of life in this photo but the truth is, she’s pretty bummed the color didn’t last. She can’t dye her hair for a couple more weeks so we offered her a solution: washi tape hair!
A few minutes after updating her profile photo to show off her washi tape hair, she matched with a hot Brapanese expat banker on Tinder. They’re out on a date this very second. We call this A Success Story!
7 – Washi tape face
We all have ugly days. Our intern, Helga, was having one today so she’s been hiding behind sunnies. We told her she didn’t need to look like a douche wearing sunnies indoors; just slap on some washi tape for insta-cute!
We even got a quote from her:
“Wow! I feel so much cuter now! Thanks, Ditz Revolution!” -Helga Weber, intern
Washi tape is definitely here to stay and should be a staple at work or at home. Do you have any creative washi tape projects you’d like to share with us?
*JK, it’s just me here.
