The Sunday Currently |

Nante‘s eldest, Naldo. ♥

Seventeen The Sunday Currentlies down, 83 more to go. Gosh, this gets so boring!

Currently on a reading break because last week was all about work and sleep. As soon as I have some free time, I need to start on Why We Broke Up and The Post-Birthday World— books I’ve had in my library for a while now.

My May blog calendar. I need less The Sunday Currentlies and more purposeful, useful stuff.

To Spotify’s Hanging Out and Relaxing playlist. I hate to admit this because I hate John Mayer, but I am liking Wildfire. I looked it up just now and learned it came out in 2013??? I heard it for the first time last week haha.

Of New York City!!! I had the STRANGEST dream the other night: Joey and I moved to NYC and we lived in this large, yet creepy-haunted unit owned by Lena Dunham on a bad part of town. We’d look out the windows and straight into the next-door neighbor’s home office.

Ivory soap on my hands.

It weren’t 10PM on a Sunday. Joey and I slept the whole day and only woke up 2 hours ago. Kinda feel like shit but I’m happy that I got to rest. I just hope I don’t have a hard time sleeping later. I’m hesitant to take Sleepasil and Sleepy Time Tea because I might end up sleeping through my 615AM alarm.

This work week goes easy on us. I haven’t been stricken by work-related anxiety in months and I am very very thankful for that. I remember staying up all night having anxiety attacks when I still used to be in social media, and I constantly fear that they’d come back one day.

My ratty, 24-year old Helga shirt and gray underwear. I need to take a shower in a bit.

My Suesh Clipless Curling Iron. I gave Lazada PH another chance this month and got the items I ordered within six days! I’ve been meaning to blog about it (because they were super nice to me when they sorted out that whole catastrophe last January) but I have yet to take my spiral slicer home from the office.

A new dog. Joey and I kind of want a Yorkie but I have conflicting feelings about buying a dog (especially from breeders) when so many babies out there need rescuing.

A new phone or a new phone battery. I can’t use my iPhone 5C anymore unless it’s connected to a power source. The battery’s bloated, too, because the LCD is kind of raised. Ugh, I’ve only had this phone for 13 months!

Hungry. I’m posting this entry and then burrowing under my blanket with Scandal and the refrigerator cake I made last week.

How was your weekend? :)

Ugh, I hated Why We Broke Up (actually can I say that when I didn’t even finish the book?) Annoying as hell characters!

    Naldo’s adooorable <3

Oh no, I hate annoying characters!

@Romila Marie, I hated Why We Broke Up, too. D: I finished the book but I wish that I hadn’t even started it! Blech.

@Carina, I think you are not alone in this cause. I didn’t like it that much either, but I gave it a shot (because I like Lemony Snicket when I was younger…)

@Romila Marie, Uh oh! I was planning on reading it pa naman.

Sleepasil worked on me the first time but not the third time. I think because I have this “talent” in fighting my heavy lids. But I like how it makes me energized when I wake up from forced sleeping. LOL

    • Reply Helga April 26, 2015 at 10:51 pm

      I take 2-3 Sleepasil caps!

  • Reply Yshy April 26, 2015 at 11:23 pm

Laughed when you said TSC gets so boring! I feel the same way!!! If not for the “pledge” I would probably stop for a while haha

    • Reply Helga April 27, 2015 at 11:00 am

I think it’s ok to take breaks! Buti ka pa, you’re on 23 na haha.

I can’t even take the word “breeder” seriously – is breeding animals, for the sake of earning (a whole lotta) money, even a humane thing to do??? (Sorry, I own 5 beautiful “aspins” kasi so I have feelings against people who make money off what I consider as family members. But Yorkies are hella cute.)

Why We Broke Up is a cute book!

    • Reply Helga April 27, 2015 at 10:59 am

I agree! It should be considered animal cruelty. Plus aspins are stronger and genetically-better than purebreds.

You have an awesome header. What brushes do you use?

My first time here in your blog. :)

If you are able to give a dog a home that is in need, that is always the best option. Because often their fate can be a terribly sad one if they can’t find a home. :(

I know. We’ve been rescuing pets for years. :)

Why We Broke Up is visually enjoyable, the story line though is very predictable, but still a pretty nice read :)

    • Reply Helga April 27, 2015 at 11:04 pm

      I’ll try to finish it!!!

Your dog is so cuuuuuuuuuuuute, Helga. <3 I have a pug and she's the sweetest! People would always tell me it's haram but kebs, I had her even before I reverted into islam. hehe

Not my dog, it’s my friend’s! But he is super cute.

Just googled why dogs are haram in Islam. That kinda makes me sad. :(

    you take sleepasil too!

    • Reply Helga April 29, 2015 at 7:52 pm

      Only when desperate!

All those comments about Why We Broke Up made me want to read it even more! Why was Lena Dunham in your dream? LOL. It sounded like a scene straight off a psycho-thriller film!

    • Reply Helga April 29, 2015 at 7:53 pm

hahaha Lena didn’t actually show up in my dream! It was just clearly mentioned she owned our apartment.

  • Reply Michelle April 29, 2015 at 9:17 am

Yorkies are cute :D I need to do something like this post…Lol

    • Reply Helga April 29, 2015 at 7:55 pm

Go! But The Sunday Currently gets boring to write after a while haha.

  • Reply Raisa April 29, 2015 at 12:20 pm

I should start a blog calendar. I’m trying to post twice a week but sometimes I’m at a loss as to what I should write about.

I want a new phone too. :( Isn’t a bloated battery dangerous? Be careful!

    • Reply Helga April 29, 2015 at 7:55 pm

It is!!! Going to have it replaced this weekend, or maybe Friday if shops are open.

  • Reply Roxanne April 29, 2015 at 10:07 pm

I read Why We Broke Up a few months ago and I didn’t enjoy reading it that much. It was kind of boring but I liked the ending. I don’t know why even though I got bored reading it, it still made me cry. Hahahaha! I’m such a crybaby. xx

    • Reply Helga May 3, 2015 at 8:35 pm

      Still ignoring it! Haha.

  • Reply Carmina Mones April 29, 2015 at 11:09 pm

Sakit ata ng 5c ang pag-bloat ng battery. I had mine changed after a year rin as in angat ang screen at di mapindot ang home screen cause of that. My friend’s having problem with her phone same as yours. Heavy users daw tayo hehe.

    • Reply Helga May 3, 2015 at 8:34 pm

I had mine changed na! Finally. Grabe 2500!

      • Reply Mina May 5, 2015 at 11:59 am

@Helga, grabe ang mahal. I had mine for a couple of hundred lang! Haha! My brother’s friend couldn’t find an original battery replacement so I had to settle for class A, cheaper, plus the labor’s free of charge. So far, so good, but extra careful na lang rin sa paggamit, kasi not the original battery na.
