On My Radar: What I'm Reading Today |

Popping in to say hi and share some links worth reading (some of which are oldish because I started this draft last week). I am incredibly busy with work but I’m hoping things will be a bit easier after tomorrow’s pitch. ♥

++ The Lost Girls. A heartbreaking, heavy read. Kim Fowley is garbage and someone needs to take a massive shit on his grave.

++ How Would You Announce Your Celebrity Breakup? I got:

“Instagram a sunset, or retweet a meme or poem about broken hearts and what’s meant to be will be. Include a caption saying that times are tough right now, and your heart is hurting, but you know you’ll come through this stronger and more open to love in the long run. Delete all photographic proof that your ex ever existed from your feed.”

++ 11 Things I Quit to Get Financially Healthy. CONFESSION: I spent 2500PHP at Today x Future over the weekend. A beer there is 60PHP a bottle. When they handed me my bill on Friday, I was so drunk that everything was a blur so I just handed the waiter my money. THIS SHIT HAS GOT TO STOP. From Fagan’s list, I am most guilty of Uber and having a memorized credit card number. I don’t think I can give up Uber, though!

++ The Web We Have to Save. A long read. While I don’t necessarily agree with everything, I do share this sentiment:

I miss when people took time to be exposed to different opinions, and bothered to read more than a paragraph or 140 characters. I miss the days when I could write something on my own blog, publish on my own domain, without taking an equal time to promote it on numerous social networks; when nobody cared about likes and reshares.

I really think today’s internet has made a lot of us (myself included) intellectually lazy.

++ How To Build A Blog That Makes You Look Like A Pro (Even If You’re A Clueless Amateur). Good tips!

++ The Future of Blogging – 2016 Blog Trend Traditions. To be honest, this sounds like a lot of tiring, hard work that I can’t be bothered with. I just want my blog to be a blog, and not a business. Matira ang matibay, I guess!

++ Unusual, Cheeky and Fun Ways To Get Inspiration For Your Blog Posts. For anyone who has blogger’s block.

++ 50 Iconic Indie Album Covers: The Fascinating Stories Behind The Sleeves. I had no idea that that was a potato in Neutral Milk Hotel’s album cover LOL.

++ A Day in the Life of Millennials vs. Boomers. But LBR, we all have the Baby Boomer’s travel stress.

++ Here’s How to Fit 10,000 Steps Into Your Work Day. I really need to install a pedometer app! I just hate how I have to be holding my phone while walking for these pedometers to work because I worry about getting mugged.

++ Better Insecurities. Five illustrations for our inner demons.

++ If Male Musicians Were Described The Same Way As Female Musicians. This needs to be a regular thing.

++ How to Be Unstoppable: Inside the Creative Mind of Mindy Kaling. When I grow up, I want to be Mindy.

Lastly, please vote for Triangulo by texting PHILPOP4 to 2910:

Thyro and Yumi have re-kindled my love for mainstream OPM and I hope Triangulo wins People’s Choice at Philpop 2015. ♥

I know who did the “Instagram a picture of a sunset” with the caption that times are tough, with quotes etc.. it’s Olivia Culpo when she and Nick Jonas recently broke up! You can also take a look at the rest of her Instagram feed.

Yeah, I want the future of blogging to just be the same. But guess, it’s starting now. Seems like most of the people’s idea about blogging is “business”. I’m seriously gonna read some of those articles. Interesting!
