Welcome to Friday’s 10 Happy Things where I/we list ten things that made us smile this week so that we can start the weekend on an even more positive note!

Blogging has been a little bit slow lately because I haven’t been feeling it and none of my drafts seem interesting enough for me to finish writing. I could have half-assed a couple of entries but… I just wasn’t in the mood. I don’t know how other bloggers do it, really!

It’s been a pretty so-so week. Monday kicked my butt because it took me 4 hours to get to work, thanks to a stalled truck along C5. All it took is one truck to bring Metro Manila down on its knees haha how sad. And then Carly Rae Jepsen was postponed which WAS A REAL JERK MOVE because Joey will be in The UK for 3 weeks in September. At least I still have something to look forward to? Anyway, here’s this week’s list:

  1. I went one whole day without rice. Aiming for two rice-free days next week!
  2. Meditating. I’m on my fourth consecutive day and I feel lighter, kind of. My lower back also always hurts when I meditate (bad office posture) but it was 100% ache-free today. :)
  3. The Office. BJ Novak is a babe.
  4. My new Colourpop Lippie Stix in Leather and Tootsi. I just need to get Mac Velvet Teddy and then I’m putting a 2-month ban on lipstick purchases.
  5. Listening to old Carly Rae songs.
  6. Lunch at Sarsa.

    K, honestly, everyone raves about Sarsa but I just find the food okay. I guess their specialties are the meat dishes which I can no longer have. The tuna sisig is delicious, though! (But I hate sisig.)

  7. Getting 7 hours of sleep last night. Guys, this is a BIG deal because I usually only get 4-6 hours during the week.
  8. Seeing Joey tonight. ♥ It’s been a busy week for him and I’m looking forward to quality time with my bb.
  9. These kitties enjoying a giant ice ball.


    I AM 110% READY.

    OMG how do you feel that your boyfriend will be gone for 3 whole weeks? Hopefully that will be fast? I have Colourpop in Lumiere and Ellarie and I love them both for the price and the smell (weirdly enough ahaha). Can’t wait to get my hands on the Ultra Matte Liquids! I think like you, I need to put a ban on lipstick buying as well (at least anything above P1k), it’s all what I’ve been buying lately! Ugh.

    Thinking if I should post this week… hmm.

      I love the smell/taste of Colourpop, too!

      This will be the third time Joey will be gone for 3 weeks haha, I’m ok with it… mostly because I came from an LDR??? I’ll spend those 3 weekends NOT drinking (hopefully), and getting my lazy on!

    I cry like a baby when me or my husband goes home to the U.S. separately for a few weeks. We’re also grown ups. The Office, yesss, and I love how BJ Novak And Mindy are totally bffs on the real. Mac Velvet Teddy, total must have, but good luck on the lipstick ban.

    I’ve gone 6 months without rice before. You get used to it naman. I started eating it again because my Mom keeps cooking food you can’t eat without rice (ie Bicol Express, Kare-kare) lels Tbh I can give it up forever, but meat!!!! Grabe, I still don’t know how you do it haha

      Trying to go rice-free today! I did order pasta, tho, haha.

      I can never give up rice. :(

    Haha I’m just getting back into rice again. Last night, I had jasmine rice with coconut powder and it was deeelish! But yeah, it’s good to have a diet that consists of varied grain sources, like quinoa and whole wheat and other stuff blah blah blah.

    I love that you’re meditating and getting a good night’s sleep, look at you being so good!

    And the cats licking the giant ice ball HAHAHA! I think the humans filming that video had more fun with the ice ball though. Toward the end things started getting trippy…

    I’ll probably eventually run into the blogging rut, especially since I recently started working at a fast food restaurant and will be super tired (today was my first time doing lunch rush and some crazy lady who does payroll was being unhelpful and slowing us down).

    And OMG, that cat video is so cute. It definitely made my day after working pretty much 10 hours straight (except for 10 minutes).

    I’ve been wanting to do this list for few weeks now. Hopefully I can push it though next week.
    A whole day without rice is so so impossible for me, I just can’t! Hope you can do that two rice-free days next week!

      I tried to go rice-free yesterday but failed LOL had rice for dinner.
