Summer Things I’m Looking Forward To

Summer Things I’m Looking Forward To | blog.ditz-revolution.net

When you’re a working adult, summer isn’t really anything special. It’s just like the rest of the year, but hotter and stickier. For as long as I remember, I’ve been spending the March-May months stuck in the city, grateful for the longer days but also wishing I could hie away to a destination that isn’t my office lol.

This year, I plan to do things differently. I’ve started watching what I eat and working out so I could at least trade in my sweaters for sundresses, and I’ve been plotting my vacation leaves so I could have a proper summer trip.

Here’s what I have planned so far:

I’ll be heading way up north to visit Palaui Island this month! While I am dreading the 14-hour commute (I’ll be cutting the trip into two, though: Manila-La Union and then La Union-Cagayan), I’m sure it will be worth it! Has anyone been to Cagayan/Palaui?

The first time I went to Cebu in 2010, my first stop was… SM City Cebu, to eat lechon. It’s been three years since I was last there and one of the things I’m looking forward to is experiencing the new SM Large Screen Cinema at SM Seaside City. I have a list of summer movies to see in theaters (X-Men: Apocalypse, The Jungle Book, Neighbors 2, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and Keanu) and I’d love to see them on the cinema’s super-sized screen. It’s nearly 30% larger than regular screens!

By the way, SM Seaside City and Hong Kong Disneyland have an ongoing promo! Thirty lucky families of four will get a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to HKDL. Here are the mechanics:

La Union

Did you know that my mom’s family is from La Union? I spent last year’s holidays there and I went for a quick visit with a few friends last month. All those years of going to LU for summer vacations and I never learned how to surf. This summer, I plan to take surfing lessons seriously!

What about you? What are your summer plans?

I’ve been to Palaui Island early last year! The best part of the trip for me was going to Cape Engaño! Super breathtaking and worth it! Runner ups are Anguib Beach and Crocodile Island. Hehe. My upcoming travels are to Hundred Islands and Tacloban (for Kalanggaman)! Have fun on your vacations, Helga! :)

Have you been to Baler, Ate Helga? It’s the surfing capital of the North, as they say (the surf coaches). We’re from La Union too in Santo Tomas. Hope to see you soon here in Cebu haha!

    P.S. I love your Snaps. :D

I’ve not decided on anything specific for the summer yet. Those places sound nice [and really foreign], though! I especially love the photo for Cebu…was/is that an actual place?! :o

Hope you have a fun, safe summer vaca!

By the time you’ll be here, I’m sure SM Seaside City is at least close to finished by then! :) I agree with the large screen cinema. We watched Deadpool there last month and it was quite an experience!!! Also, surfing in La Union is such a great idea as well! How badly I want to visit that place!

I’m gonna hang on to this list, too. Even just to google these places. I’ve only taken two trips on my last visits to the Philippines. Honestly, as much as I love my family, I’d like to see something else other than Metro Manila and Baguio.

I’m a lazy passenger, though. I’d like somewhere I can fly to from MNL. :)
