My database has been restored and I have learned my lesson— backup religiously! I now have my WP Backup plugin scheduled to do daily backups once a day. Overkill but after wasting $150 and having my blog go down for more than a week, I can afford to be paranoid.
I’m also back from Team Internet’s annual Zambales beach trip. We spent it this year at Crystal Beach (my first time there). I loved the place and my only complaint (which is kind of a big deal) is that their running water smells like rust/sulfur/rotten egg.
I don’t really have much to say right now so here’s a few photos from my trip! I took 500+ photos (not a lot, compared to my previous trips) and I’ve not been in the proper mood to sort and edit them all. Here are some that I have, and some that I swiped from my friends (and have been already posted elsewhere on the internet).

Nice bum where ya frum.
I’m Back! We’re back!

I made some changes to my blog.

NOTHING CRAZY, really. Just a fresh header, color scheme, and some minor tweaks to the sidebar. I’m still not done (I still have a few changes to make) but I decided to go ahead and launch it since my blog has been on maintenance mode for far too long now.
Fonts used are Bell MT, Men In Black Credits (header), and Nevis (post entry titles). My boyfriend HATES the deer antlers the letter R has but that’s because he hates animals and should be punished with twenty pet cats.
What do you think? Like it/hate it/don’t care about it?
Edit: Ugh, I hate the WP Sifr plugin that I’m using. It converts the text to Flash instead of an image. I might look into that and change it.
Edit x2: Switched to WP-Cufon!

Hello hello, I finally got around to changing this blog’s layout (which has been around for well over a year). It took me two days to work on this (in between actual work tasks) and a very frustrating hour of trying to transfer the theme via FTP (note to self: transfer hosts SOON).
Screencap!

I’ll most likely be making a couple of tweaks here and there (like the ads’s color scheme) and change the Twitter background.
Check out my 404 page!
Yay!

Between the lover and I, we own a handful of domains, all purchased with plans of turning them into money-making sites/niche blogs. Unfortunately, the webgeek in the relationship (aka me) got distracted with other things while the pushy-naggy one (aka him) got too busy with actual work. It’s been a few months and something has yet to become of the several domains.
One of the reasons nothing has been done about our little projects is because all the domains are hosted on a free server whose service leaves a lot to be desired (no surprise there). My schedule isn’t so busy nowadays (what a laugh, really) so I have time to look for webhosting. I’m always on the lookout for affordable hosts that offer good packages and I came across Webhosting Geek’s list of the top 10 web hosts for 2008. It’s helpful information; now all I need is the lover to decide on one (because I am a woman and by default, can’t make any decisions. Har).

Another new theme, something I’m hoping to stick to for a couple of months. Not totally done yet, as I have to edit the CSS for my comments and then I validate my coding. *cries*
Thoughts?
PS: This layout will most likely look like shit on IE. I tested my localhost version on IE and the Twitter and MyBlogLog scripts don’t seem to work. Bah.
PPS: I made the cupcake; it’s my birthday cupcake with a cherry instead of a candle. Heehee.
Edit – Code validated. I really should aim for xHTML 1.0 Strict.
Cupcakes and diet pills!
