Third day in a row I’m having fruit for dinner. I usually get something else to eat with it (corndog, empanada etc) so it isn’t too depressing. Yes, eating fruit makes me sad because I would rather have a burger. I have to look at pretty, happy things like modern furniture and lolcats while eating to keep me from bursting into tears. Lawd.

The fruit mix in the rectangle container is my co-worker’s; it’s the fruit mix I had the first day. I kind of don’t like dragon fruit so I went with the other mix. I’m starting to like the taste of papaya now which is good for my tummy, yay. That’s my coconut-lychee shake and some Hong Kong Style Noodles with pork siomai in the back.

Grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, and papaya. I realized that I don’t really like grapes

My HK Style Noodles. I’m never getting this again lol, it tastes funny. Either that or I suck at mixing my own sauces. I got it because I wanted the siomai (you can barely see it in this photo). Stupid, I know, because I could’ve just gotten siomai alone.

Well, this (+ a coconut papaya shake and a chicken empanada) was dinner.

While looking for pre-packaged salads and patio chairs at the Galleria supermarket last night, I discovered that they have a freshly cut fruit section (near the Express lanes). “Happy joy!” I thought, as I picked up a fruit mix (apples, a thin slice of orange, dragon fruit, grapes, and a dinky kiwi slice. The one pictured is a mix of watermelon, cantaloupe, papaya, and grapes.)
Truthfully, I’d rather be munching on a burger I’m really really trying to develop a liking for fruit. Let’s see how long this lasts. Hopefully FOREVER.

Some days just aren’t worth waking up for.
It’s worse when it’s a Monday and I have to shuffle my feet out of bed and through my morning coffee and put on clothes that are too hot to wear. I’d rather spend the day on the xbox 360 or on my couch marathon-ing Lipstick Jungle and Cougar Town.
I sound bratty, I know. Some people don’t have jobs etc etc.
On a lighter note: four days ’til the weekend.
A poem:
The Quiet World (Jeffrey McDaniel)
In an effort to get people to look
into each other’s eyes more,
and also to appease the mutes,
the government has decided
to allot each person exactly one hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.
When the phone rings, I put it to my ear
without saying hello. In the restaurant
I point at chicken noodle soup.
I am adjusting well to the new way.
Late at night, I call my long distance lover,
proudly say I only used fifty-nine today.
I saved the rest for you.
When she doesn’t respond,
I know she’s used up all her words,
so I slowly whisper I love you
thirty-two and a third times.
After that, we just sit on the line
and listen to each other breathe.
And a photo:

Special chicken chelo kebab half-swimming in garlic/white sauce. If this grosses you out, you’re not eating your special chicken chelo kebab right.

Orrrr, a reason to post photos.
Last night’s “dinner”: condensed milk on toasted oat bread. Super good; made less sinful by not buttering the toast.

New boots new boots new boots. I originally got them in black but they weren’t my size (I tried to make them fit, haha) so I sent them back and got them in brown instead. Kind of a weird shade of brown, beige-ish and almost gray. I like it. My thighs are looking flabby, I haven’t been working out he he he. IDK why my legs look stubby, too, must be the boots.

I didn’t fix the straps on the right boot properly, obviously. The shirt I’m wearing is one of my thrift finds from last Sunday.

Mostly photos of food.
