Happy New Year, everyone! I know I’m late but that’s because the last few days leading up to the new year were a bit crazy (obviously, a ton of alcohol was involved). I hope everyone had a blast ringing in 2012! I know I did and Tara said it perfectly when she said we ended the night by dying.

As with blog tradition (I missed 2008, though), I am writing down my resolutions/goals/game plan for the upcoming year.

Learn how to manage my time properly, focus, and be more motivated, productive and organized. Most of the time, I feel like I have so much going on when it’s really just Facebook apps keeping me busy. I’m kidding (sort of). I need to trim the fat; this means less Castleville (my Facebook game of the moment), less TV show marathons, and less oversleeping (or sleeping, basically). I purchased a planner recently (and actually started using it last night) and downloaded the Evernote app to help me out.

I’ve had this entry in my drafts for a while and have had a few people ask me to post my iPhone apps. I thought today would be an appropriate day to publish this. I also think I’m done with the iPhone app walkthrough I’ve been doing for work. This day can only be completed by having enough money in my MacBook Pro fund… not counting on that happening today, though. Anyway, enough of that; here are my current apps:

Second— friends and my boyfriend will be happy to know that the honeymoon phase with my phone is over and I am no longer obsessed with games! Macarena.fla! BUT, I still spend a sizable amount of time on my phone, mostly to read eBooks.

Anyway, I thought I’d post/share my favorite and most used apps.

Instagram — a social network of sorts for photos. At first, I was kinda annoyed that it didn’t have a web version but I don’t mind it now.
CashTrails — a way to keep track of my expenses. I have not been doing a good job of logging my daily expenses because it’s so heartbreaking! Will get back to that next payday.
Nutrition Menu — calorie counter, both for food and exercises. I love that you don’t need a wifi connection to search for food in their database. You can also set a limit for your daily caloric needs and a ratio for the nutrients you get. I’m bad, though: last night, I pigged out on Easter chocolate. Guess who didn’t log her calories? =p
GoodReader — The Cristal of all iPhone/pod/pad apps! I LOVE THIS. It’s not compatible with ePub files (I heard Stanza is) so I have to convert them to PDF. I have so many books lined up!
Pink Pad — Tracks my dot and my fertile days (not that I need the latter. Sadtrombone.wav)
Cook This Not That! — I have no use for the Not That! panel but I like having a quick mini-cookbook for low-calorie alternatives at my fingertips.
Full Fitness — Tons of workouts.
Tiny Violin — I get a kick out of asking my friends “Are you sad?” and playing the violin, regardless of their answer.
iKnow Cats — When I’m bored and not in the mood to read, I look at and read about different breeds of my favorite animal.

Five days a week, these are the contents of my bag (some days, I don’t pack lunch… like when I woke up that morning with a hangover and can’t be bothered to cook; some days, I don’t bring my dSLR… like when I woke up that morning feeling less-than-cute):

Umbrella, my lunch container, makeup kit, cigarettes and lighter, handkerchief, tampons (just for this week, heh), brush with hair ties and rubberbands, my 50mm to represent my dSLR, powdered oil control sheets (this variety of Silk Secrets is crap, what a waste), coin purse and card holder, invisible management jobs module, train tickets, lotion, band-aids, Hannah Montana pen, iPhone, keys, iPod.

So I have a few questions:

1) How many bags do you have?
2) What’s in your bag?
3) How often do you change purses?
4) Do you know where I can get cute bags that are big enough to fit all my things? :)

Happy new year, happy new decade a couple of days late! I had this whole collage of self-portraits from 2010 almost done on Photoshop the night of the 31st ’til I realized that there was no way I was going to be able to finish that AND cobble up a decent blog entry in twenty minutes. Besides, who in their right mind would spend New Year’s eve on the internet, reading my blog, anyway?

So 2010 was pretty uneventful but maybe I’ll save that for my next entry (aka where I post photos from my New Year’s). Today, I write about stuff I hope to do in the next 362 days. These are not resolutions, mind you… and no, I’m not about to blather on about how stupid and useless resolutions are. I think resolutions are fun to write down but I’ve outgrown the whole thing. What I need are goals, not just resolutions (because without the former, the latter is useless… I think?). I’m keeping this list simple so they’d be more doable. I know people say you should shoot for the stars or moon yadda yadda but I want to keep things realistic.

Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

Blech.

Anywhere where vodka and cigars are served. Alcohol over coffee, dancing over talking. It’s not perfect (because really, perfect for me would include going to an amusement park and getting drunk on contraband vodka from a flask and ends with him winning a stuffed alligator for me) but it’s practical.

From left to right (or maybe not but it’s not so hard to figure out which is which): CO Bigelow Rose Salve (I’m almost out huhucry), Paul & Joe cream blush (or any blush, really. I cannot live without blush the way an iPad cannot live without an ipad warranty hrhrhrhr), Maybelline Clear Smooth Minerals liquid foundation, Lancome pencil eyeliner (look at how worn out and stubby it is! I’ve had this for a while and it’s my favorite. It’s nearing its death and I can’t let go), tweezers, IN2IT Oil Control and Oil Free foundation, and that weird stick thing is my girlstache epilator/epicare stick/magic hair wand.

What are your essentials? =)
