How to Vote for the NAPBAS

Hello hello, I didn’t think that I would actually need to make this post, considering the instructions are clearly written on the voting page but I’ve gotten several messages from people realizing they’ve been voting wrong all this time!

Anyway, here’s a super quick how-to that I posted on my Tumblr, too.

What To Wear To The NAPBAS?!

Helga Weber NAPBAS

Almost as exciting as the possibility of coming home a winner is figuring out what to wear to the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards (NAPBAS). It’s a fancy formal event, I think (keywords: gala dinner) so I’m pretty much looking forward to picking out a super cutie dress to wear.

When it comes to clothes, I like them low-cut and shapeless; bonus points for glitter or sequins or a kitschy (you say ugly, I say kitschy) pattern, or if it’s something you would expect a grandmother or a woman in her cougar 50s would wear. The more colorful, the better! Skirts and dresses need to either fall way above my knees or cover my entire legs. For the NAPBAS, I decided to go short (I am more likely to re-wear a short dress than a maxi) and browsed around Polyvore for some ideas.

This is the funniest thing to pop up on my Twitter timeline this morning:

A freaken pirate riding a moped around the streets of Manila! You’re a long way from the sea, matey!

The Big Clean-Up

I have this terrible habit of never throwing out stuff. Like a lot of people, I am guilty of keeping products waaaay past their expiration date. I also have this problem with buying things on impulse and only using them a couple of times before forgetting about them. Even though I tend to stick to drugstore brands (aka relatively cheap stuff), it all piles up and ends up a waste of space and money.

Today, I decided to go through my drawers and throw out makeup and products I haven’t touched or used in a while. It wasn’t really hard but I found it silly how I would hesitate over parting with some of them. When I was done, this is what my trash bin looked like:
